Detaching from painful (dark) Memories for Quick Recovery and Accepting Reality (light). Addiction, ADHD, forgetfulness, stubbornness. Poor listening, isolated, instant gratification
Stuck in the past makes you illogical- a dulling effect.
An older man, 65 years old, had been struggling with deep depression for the past 18 years and was taking antidepressants. By chance, he met me during a training seminar. His story was heartrending: he had lost a son at 24 to a brain tumor, and both of his daughters had gone through divorces. These experiences had left him with numerous panic attacks, making him feel like his life was overshadowed by traumas. I assured him he could recover if he listened carefully to my lecture. In the training session, I helped him understand the concept of limiting beliefs. These beliefs had shaped his mind, forming a pattern that made him feel like an isolated (feeling vulnerable) person who had lost his ability to understand reality. I explained that the human brain operates through two distinct hemispheres. One hemisphere is responsible for creating mental images, while the other is analyzing, calculating, criticizing, and constructing sentences. These cognitive functions are mainly linked through our sensory organs—touch, taste, sight, hearing, and smell.
The Harmony of Brain Hemispheres and Logical Thinking
The brain functions optimally when both hemispheres complement each other and work in harmony through sensory perception (touch, taste, smell, hearing, and pressure). When sensory information is processed and feedback is generated, the two brain hemispheres function together, developing logical thinking. Thoughtfully utilizing these five senses contributes to the cultivation of logical thinking and a more profound comprehension of the world around us. However, when an individual becomes fixated on past experiences and age-related issues, their capacity for logical thinking can become impaired. This impairment subsequently diminishes their ability for creativity and progression. Such individuals find themselves captivated by their past, their focus predominantly directed backward, and they see the dark in front.
During deep depression, addiction, or spiritual burnout, logical thinking stops as the feedback loop is closed. The right hemisphere generates an independent identity (a brain pattern) without connection to the left hemisphere. It thinks, judges, and functions independently, making the person stubborn and having a fixed mindset.
The mind works better when focused on an objective. Although our minds are consistently active, they function most effectively when directed toward a purpose. Dwelling excessively in the past can result in confusion and disorder, obstructing our ability to embrace the present reality and obscuring the true essence of life’s purpose. This state of ‘being’ can cause a disconnection from our path, leading to a partition within our brain where one hemisphere operates independently, behaving stubbornly and overly sensitively, disengaging from logical thinking and hastily reaching conclusions.
The Consequences of Disconnection and Fixed Thought Patterns
People who find themselves entrapped in unrealistic attachments, addictions, guilt, Depersonalization-Derealization Disorder (DDD), past-age romances, fanatic followers of any political leaders, or obsessive celebrity fandom experience a halt in logical thinking, perspective, and discernment. Their existence becomes confined to self-generated thoughts, fostering impatience, intolerance, and unwavering adherence to unyielding brain patterns “without processing feedback mechanism.”
